tv   Americas Newsroom With Bill Hemmer and Martha Mac Callum  FOX News  November 6, 2016 10:00am-11:01am PST

10:00 am
good time? >> i did. thanks for having me. >> a lot going on, lots of live events. stay here all day long with fox news channel on this fine sunday. we'll see you back tomorrow, monday, noon eastern. right now a special sunday edition of "america's newsroom." >> thank you, harris. 1:00 here in new york, and donald trump is set to hold a rally any moment now in the swing state of iowa. part of a jam-packed day for him and hillary clinton, both trying to make good news of the map and the remaining hours until election day. don't change your channel. it's sunday afternoon and we say hello to you because there's two behind us. we have finally reached the two day mark. i'm bill hemmer. how are you doing? >> i'm great. how are you? >> fantastic. >> happy sunday. 48 hours to go in this whole thing. i'm martha mccowan. we're thrilled hur with us today. donald trump about to step on the stage in his first event of the day. five states are on his college. in rest for the weary out there. iowa is the first one up.
10:01 am
then he'll head to minnesota, virginia, pennsylvania, and michigan through the amazing feats of transportation. mike pence will be in florida. he will be in north carolina, and he will be in new hampshire. let's look at hillary clinton's path for the day because this tells us a lot about where they think they need to be. pennsylvania is where you will find her, ohio, no big surprise, and new hampshire. getting a ton of attention in the final hours. tim kaine will spend his afternoon in wisconsin. >> brand new polling "wall street journal" shows this, hillary clinton four-point lead nationally. factor that in real clear politics average of all the polls together. her lead about two points nationally. both trump and clinton now fo s focusing on firing up those supporters and getting out the vote. >> so many people who have lost their faith in the future and the future of our country. our government has failed our citizens.
10:02 am
b but we are going to turn it all around and deliver the change and leadership that america deserves. this is the movement like our country has never seen before. >> i want to be the president for everybody, everybody who agrees with me, people who don't agree with me, people who vote for me, people who don't vote for me. so let's get out, let's vote for the future, let's vote for what we want for our country and our children and our grandchildren. god bless you! >> whoo! hotdog! we have team fox coverage. rich and mike are following both campaigns. want to start in new york though with special report anchor bret baier. >> she's fired up and ready to go. >> indeed. no question about that. it happens when the rain comes down from the skies. seeing a bunch of things out
10:03 am
there today. >> yeah. >> notagely early voting in north carolina appears to be favorable towards republican. early voting in florida seems to be absolutely neck and neck. what's your analysis? >> so i think those are good things for the trump campaign obviously. it all comes down to turnout. we say that all the time, but as you get closer to the day, it really is about the turnout operation and who can get their supporters to the polls. i think we're seei ing mixed messages earlier. in nevada, jon ralston really has a sense of the hispanic turnout there in nevada. the clinton campaign has jumped on that and they say their internal numbers show that, you know, trump would have to be -- outperform by ten points on election day to pull that off. you know, some of that is spin, but some of it is real, on-the-ground facts. i think what it comes down to is the midwest and where that turnout is in those key states, some of theme previous blue states that trump is obviously
10:04 am
trying to pick off. >> so you've got iowa. we'll see that any moment now and minneapolis, minnesota, that has not voted for a republican since 1972. >> yeah. >> that is stop number two just to finish your point. it's back to michigan, back to pittsburgh, pennsylvania, and then back to northern virginia. >> and the fact that hillary clinton and president obama are campaigning in michigan is either, one, trying to shore up what they believe is going to be a win there or a sign that they're really concerned about the shift that the they've seen in some of those rust belt states in particular. >> reince priebus did an interview earlier today and he insists that michigan is a coin toss. >> that the would be something-t would be something. >> trump added another stop in grand rapids, michigan. 11:00 p.m. east coast time. >> where they go in the final
10:05 am
two days tells you a lot. and it tells you that's where the focus is. i do think that north carolina is a real battleground, and that's going to be a key on tuesday night. i think that florida obviously always is, but the path that he has to take to 270 has to string a lot of states together. >> and we looked at that yesterday when we were messing around on the map together, and it's not impossible certainly, but he needs a lot of things to break his way. >> yeah. >> and for her it's easier. >> they could, if it shifts two points in some of these states or the polls are under reporting -- as you get closer, the polls are pretty accurate on average historically when you get to election day. but if they're off two points, you're talking about a big swing. >> it's a very interesting point. if you look at what just generally speaking mccain
10:06 am
compared to romney as you flip through these counties and states, what you find is a two-point difference. meaning romney did two points better than mccain and overall it was not good enough to win him the white house. i think that's something to watch too, and we'll be looking at the demographics and seeing what the percentage of the vote is depending on the state. >> and it will be fascinating. >> and i think too that, you know, with early voting being so much more popular than it's ever been, i think the question is, well, are those newer voters or are those folks that just now more and more people have the opportunity to get it over with early. >> that's right. first of all, let's just concede that this is true, a lot of people want this election to be over. i mean really over. and i think that the enthusiasm, if you look at the polls, it's not as high as it was because they have these high negatives. now, you talk to trump people and they're like look at the crowds, look at the enthusiasm, but if you look at the poll numbers, it's a little bit less
10:07 am
than romney, which is hard to believe. >> yeah. sioux city, iowa, here in a moment. i'm going to miss it when it's over. >> really? >> i'm one of those rare birds. thank you, bret. >> it's faun. >> see you later tonight and again on tuesday. >> as you guys were just saying, donald trump is in five states this afternoon pushing to bring that final message home to voters. he will be in iowa just a few minutes from now. we'll take you there live to see that. busy travel day, of course, and it follows a security scare in reno, nevada, last night. have you seen this? a scary moment. the secret service rushed mr. trump off the stage after someone in the crowd shouted the word gun. security officials detained a man, later saying that no weapons were found. rich edson is live in sioux city, iowa. good afternoon to you. what is donald trump's message
10:08 am
for today? >> reporter: good afternoon, martha. we just heard from a campaign aide that donald trump will hit hillary clinton rather hard on her ties to wall street. in the words of this campaign aide, for being a tool of wall street, and also talking about donald trump and his history as a businessman, trying to play up the fact that he would be good for the economy because of his experience working as a businessman. this as much of the polls we have seen, the trump campaign is aware of this, is republicans who were once skeptical coming back into the fold to support donald trump. we are in the western part of iowa. it is a heavily republican area of iowa, so they need that turnout operation here to inspire people here to show up to the polls for him on tuesday. the polls look pretty good for him in iowa. "the des moines register" came out with a poll yesterday showing donald trump leading by seven percentage points. he has, among other themes, been hitting a lot on obamacare, especially with the premium increases we've seen for next years plans in obamacare.
10:09 am
he has also hit on wikileaks, hillary clinton, calling her a crony. among the other themes we've heard from donald trump of late. you know that formula, as you'd mentioned, was interrupted just a little bit last evening when apparently someone was holding a sign that said republicans against trump. that's when the secret service came in. in a statement secret service said immediately in front of the stage an unidentified individual shouted gun. secret service agents and reno police officers immediately apprehended the subject. upon a thorough search of the subject and the surrounding area, no weapon was found. donald trump returned to the stage, finished his remarks, and now he's here in sioux city, iowa. >> an unnerving moment to be sure. we will watch for him in a few moments where you are. >> martha, we're going to take you over to the map in a moment here and we're just -- there we go. love this thing. just pull it out a little wider. i'm go to this map and show you what's happening. a lot of focus on pennsylvania
10:10 am
for very good reason. republicans have wanted to win this state going back to 1988 and they have not. is it in play this year? look at some of the results from pennsylvania from four years ago. this is obama beating romney. now, i'm going to show you the math. there was about 5 million-plus votes cast. the difference is about 300,000 when obama won the state. 300,000 for all of pennsylvania. but here in the city of philadelphia, you have a margin of 500,000 votes in favor of barack obama over mitt romney. in just that one part of the state, so you see where hillary clinton and team clinton go back there over and over again and that's where mike emanuel is today, live in philly where clinton just wrapped up an event. the clinton team focusing a lot on p.a. and in michigan. let's start there. >> reporter: well, bill, yeah, democrats are saying essentially the races in pennsylvania and michigan have gotten very close. part of what they're saying about why they're investing so
10:11 am
much time and energy in those two states is because they are states that don't do early voting, so it's all about tuesday, all about election day. however, chris wallace today pushed clinton's chief strate a crack in the blue wall today on "fox news sunday." >> our job is every state we make harder for donald trump to win makes his path narrower and narrower. we always wanted to be in a position where we're not trying to thread a needle, not drawing to an inside straight. >> reporter: to be clear, the clinton team is sending the president, the former president, and the democratic nominee back to michigan. they're also doing several more events here in pennsylvania, so it is very fair to say there is democratic concern, bill. >> early voting is zodown among african-american voters. is that true in some swing states and if so, by how much? what you hearing? what are you seeing in the numbers? >> no question about that. african-american numbers are down in places like north carolina, also in florida, and
10:12 am
so the clinton team and its a y allies are doing everything he can to drive african-american turnout. hillary clinton went to a predominantly african m.a.s.h. church in philadelphia. she went with cory booker, the popular african-american senator from new jersey trying to stir up support. she has president obama doing everything are he can to drive african-american turnout but he's not on the ballot this time and it's not entirely clear he can share his popularity with her. today clinton's campaign chairman sounded a little defensive. >> you're comparing us against the first african-american president running for re-election, but we think we can hit those numbers and the president is helping us do that, and -- but we've built a different kind of coalition and a bigger coalition. >> reporter: the counter from the clinton team is that they're doing better with latino voters which could be the difference in places like nevada, perhaps florida, and so they are saying it is a different kind of coalition this time. bill? >> thank you, mike.
10:13 am
mike emanuel in philadelphia. talk to you soon, mike. thanks for that. >> the clinton campaign dealing with the fallout from numerous scandals in the final days of this election. will they be her down fall? there he is with pharrell williams. she's been with a lot of celebrities over the last couple days. trey gowdy, the chairman of the benghazi committee, says voters get to decide on tuesday whether they've had enough. >> if you're tired of the politicalization of the department of justice and you're tired of scandal after scandal after stimulus plan for the criminal defense bar or whatever you think you're going to get from her administration, our framers were smart enough to give us an option. congress can't fix it, but the american people can on tuesday. >> let's bring in lanny davis. welcome. good to have you here today. 48 hours to go in this -- >> sometimes i think i'm on "saturday night live" when i listen to trey gowdy who came up with a big zero after all that
10:14 am
investigation, but nice to be back, martha, and say hello to bill hemmer. >> they didn't have their hands on a lot of the information they wanted and some of it has come out in the meantime. >> let's debate that after tuesday, martha. >> anyway, we're not here to litigate that prior congressional investigation at this point. we're here to litigate what's going to happen in the coming 48 hours and the american people, as he says, you can't argue with that nothmotion, that they wille their moment to speak in this election over the next couple of days. so when you look at where they are, minnesota is where donald trump is today. hasn't been a republican elected in minnesota since 1972. you have president obama and hillary clinton in michigan trying to hold onto territory there. what do you think? >> i think that we're in a fantastic position, but you're ignoring those facts, and let me give some fair and balanced alternative facts. of course we're concerned, things are tightening up -- >> then we agree. so far we agree. >> hold on. come on, martha, you always let me finish. >> go ahead. >> last night "the washington
10:15 am
post"/abc news poll plus five. today nbc/"wall street journal," plus four. this time four years ago barack obama plus one. this is a substantial margin on the last weekend. i'd rather be hillary clinton than donald trump. >> i mean, nobody knows what the outcome is going to be come tuesday -- >> except those facts. i agree. >> who knows, right? >> we're ahead. who knows. >> the facts are very fluid and you're right, definitely ahead in these national polls and tight in a lot of battleground states. >> tight but ahead in the brount stat battleground states. >> nobody knows what's going to happen on tuesday. >> i'd rather be hillary clinton than donald trump. >> you know what's so fascinating to me, just going through some of the stories this morning and looking at them. i was looking at this piece that was written called "the death of elitism" and it talks about a big sign on the highway between sharon, pennsylvania, and masonry, ohio, on route 62.
10:16 am
the sign says you had your chance. it's our turn now. and it talks about how there's a changing face in this country that we may see play out on tuesday night, and it associates hillary clinton with that sort of, you know, iest iest eyesterd, that inside baseball, connected to corporations, connected to banks, connected to things people in this country are having doubts about these days. >> look, that's a legitimate grievance in the country. right now it's, according to all the polls on the last weekend, it's still a minority, but it's real and president hillary clinton has said i want to be president of all the american people, including the person who puts that sign up. let me remind you those signs were up in 2012 and 2008 and barack obama was elected and re-elected, but those are genuine grievances, and the trump supporters should be respected and president hillary clinton will respect that point of view and will contrast her point of view with somebody who
10:17 am
is a billionaire businessman who went bankrupt four times and his closing message is he's a businessman. that's why she's ahead. >> there's also a lot of stories, i'm sure you've seen them, over the past few days talking about what happened to hope and change. what happened to bringing the country together? and we stand on the precipice of this election more divided than i think most of us have ever seen this country in our adult lives. what does that say about the fact -- you say those signs were out there in 2012 and '08. so why were they not heeded then. what you have now is a part of this country, a large part whether they win or lose on tuesday, who feel very much forgotten in the democratic leadership. >> again, martha, i always respect your point of view and a feeling that you have just described has to be respected, but let me give you facts because that's what i do. right now barack obama has the highest approval rating compared to disapproval according to gallup and every pollster next to only one other president who
10:18 am
went through the republican scandal machine and that was bill clinton. right now barack obama has a higher approval rating so hope and change has a majority in support of barack obama, so what you're describing is still a minority viewpoint which i deeply respect. >> that's my whole point. that perhaps minority viewpoint is one that, you know, feels angry and overlooked and -- >> and must be respected. must be respected. >> if you want to be president of the whole country bihillary clinton says she wants to do, it will be fascinating how she will do that to the people she called the basket of dough pleraborabl. >> it's nice to end every interview with you by saying i agree but let's look at tuesday night. in terms of baskets, i think the reason she's ahead in the polls, she's had her difficulties, james comey ten days ago wrote a letter that said he knew absolutely nothing about anything to do with hillary clinton and e-mails, and she's dropped in the polls. tuesday night the american people's verdict will be change,
10:19 am
hillary clinton first female president, a working class program that cuts taxes on the wealthy versus the status quo, trickle down economics. donald trump wants to cut his own taxes but not reveal his own tax return -- >> you know they would take dispute with what you just said because we don't have anything on the other side. we'll talk to somebody on the other side. >> i'm sure you will. >> we always talk to both sides. and that's why we love having you on. >> a reminder, you will not miss a thing on fox. live continuous coverage as results come in. we're breaking down all the races with analysis, fair and balanced reporting all day on tuesday, noch tvember the 8th. and we have fancy new digs over there. >> over there. >> they're beautiful too. really hope you spend tuesday with us all day and maybe all night. we shall see. >> we're looking forward to it. we have a great new studio. the best thing about it is it
10:20 am
has a ton of information in it and it's really easy to read and easy to see. so we know you'll go along with that ride for us. we're looking forward to it. in the meantime, any minute now donald trump will take the stage in sioux city, iowa, and he's right on cue as we call for him to walk out. he's done well in iowa. president obama, of course, won iowa over the course of the past two presidential elections. this is a flip state that donald trump hopes to see actually come to fruition come tuesday. he's worked hard to make that happen. the big question is there's no doubt there's a ton of enthu enthusiasm for the trump campaign, but is it enough, and they will see whether or not that's the case come tuesday. working hard to make it happen right now. >> barn burner, the schedule here in the last 48 hours too. ten stops in two days. here is number one, sioux city, iowa. >> so we really weren't supposed to be here. we weren't going to come back to iowa. they said, mr. trump, you don't have to, you're leading by so much you don't have to.
quote
10:21 am
i said what do you mean i don't have to? i want to go to iowa. i want to go to iowa. and the incredible leadership that you have in this state, unbelievable. so i just want to begin by thanking iowa leaders here today, lieutenant governor kim reynolds. where is kim? come on up, kim. come on up, kim. a man that i have gotten to know very well over the years and somebody that's respected outside of iowa like you wouldn't believe, inside of iowa so much that he's the longest serving governor in the history of the united states, terry. come on, terry. by the way, terry came to my office and he was talking to me about trade. i think there's nobody that knows more about trade than him. he's one of the ones in dealing with china, boy, you would be our prime candidate to take care of china.
10:22 am
he has done so well, so well for the people of iowa. nobody knows it better. congressman steve king, great guy. great guy. i even liked him when he was endorsing ted. and i still liked him. he came around. it took him a little while, but he came around. thank you very much. and a woman who i got to know because, as you know, she was on a very short list, and she loves the people of iowa, and she felt she needed a little -- it wasn't me, it wasn't me. she felt she needed a little more seasoning maybe, and i said isn't that refreshing when you hear that from somebody, and she is now seasoned because there's nobody that does a better job representing their people than joni ernst, and a great person.
10:23 am
joni, come on up. trump, trump, trump, trump! >> thank you very much. incredible people. whenever they run, just keep voting. you have to always vote for them. whether it's in two years or four years or 20 years. you're never going to do better than them. in two days, can you believe this, we are going to win the great state of iowa, and we are going to win back the white house. and i want to thank the people of iowa. you have opened up your hearts to me so much. incredible. it's been just incredible. our evening here the other night
10:24 am
with the fireworks, everything is always beautiful in iowa. real change begins with immediately repealing and replacing obamacare. it's a disaster. right? they're all saying, please. it's just been announced that the residents of iowa are going to have an experience, a massive double digit premium hike. i know the number. i will not tell you. i never do this with any of the groups. i don't say the number because it's so depressing. right now everyone is happy. we're having a good time even though the subject matter is difficult, but we're going to make it great. but i will say this, the obamacare is out of control. in the great state of arizona, premiums are going up more than 116%. just left arizona, and they are
10:25 am
very unhappy with what's going on. over half of the counties in iowa are losing obamacare insurers next year. tough to negotiate. it's honestly not going to matter because we're going to have it terminated by then. so if we win, we'll have it terminated, so we won't have any problems, governor, okay? we'll terminate it. it will be gone. it will be just a bad memory. premiums he surging. companies are leaving. insurers are fleeing. doctors are quitting, and deductibles are going through the roof. you have deductibles at $15,000, $16,000, $17,000, can you believe it? yet hillary clinton wants to double down on obamacare, make it even more expensive, far more expensive. i'm asking for your vote so we can repeal and replace obamacare and save health care for every family in iowa and for every
10:26 am
family in our great country. so important. just remember, obamacare, got to get rid of it. real change means restoring honesty to our government. there's little doubt that fbi director comey and the great special agents within the fbi will be able to collect more than enough evidence to garner indictments against hillary clinton and her inner circle despite her effort to disparage and discredit the fbi. >> trump, trump, trump, trump! >> if she were to win, it would create an unprecedented constitutional crisis. in that situation we could very
10:27 am
well have a sitting president under felony indictment and ultimately a criminal trial. just today we learned hillary clinton was sending highly classified information through her maid. did you see? it just came out a little while ago. who, therefore, had total access to this information, completely jeopardizing the national security of the united states. this just cage o-- came out, wikileaks. we need a government that can go to work on day one for the american people. that will be impossible with hillary clinton, the prime suspect in a far-reaching criminal investigation. her current scandals and controversies will continue throughout her presidency and will make it virtually impossible for her to govern. let's hope we don't have to think about it.
10:28 am
if she ever got into the oval office, hillary and her special interests would rob our country blind. that's what she's been doing. at the heart of this election is a simple question -- will our country be governed by the people or will it be governed by the corrupt political class? we're going to find out very soon. if we win, the corrupt politicians and their special interests lose. if we win, the american people, and you understand that, if we win, what's going to happen to the american people? if we win, you're going to be so happy because if we win our country is going to start winning again. we don't win anymore. our country is going to start winning again. just that simple. speaking in a secret wall street meeting, hillary clinton admitted that she wants to cut
10:29 am
medicare and social security. hillary clinton is going to destroy your social security and medicare. she even wants to give your benefits to illegal immigrants and you've seen that all over. i am going to protect and save your social security and your made a deal a long time ago, a long time ago, and i will protect american workers. the political and media elite have no idea what it's like to be living on a paycheck, paycheck to paycheck basis, not knowing whether or not the owners and leaders of their company are negotiating to move their plant or factory to mexico or some other country and fire them sometimes with virtually no notice. happening all over the country. not going to happen with us,
10:30 am
folks. it's not going to happen with us. politicians don't understand what that's like. the media and the political elites don't know the pain and the suffering these people are living under, but i figured it out a long time ago, and that's why i'm here. i'm with you rather than where i was. i was on the other side. >> thank you, donald! >> i was on the other side. i understand it well. i understand the other side well. i was enjoying my life for many years on the other side, but i also love our country, and i will tell you, our country was going bad. our country was going not only in the wrong direction, our country was going bad. and on june 16th of last year i went from being a true insider to perhaps the ultimate outsider ever.
10:31 am
ever. i don't know. i think so, right? what do you think, kim? i think so, pretty much, huh? these people that i have known all my life. they're saying, done nadonald, happened? we are going to make america great again. that's what happened. you are the people that built our country, and we are going to give you the respect that you deserve. hillary's an insider fighting only for herself and her special interests. i'm an outsider. i have become an outsider fighting for you. i'm not a politician. you, the american people, are my only special interest. that's what i'm doing it for. that's what i'm doing it for. and it's a lot of work, folks, i will tell you. it's a lot more work than i ever thought. but it is a movement in this country the likes i which our country has never seen. even the extremely dishonest media back there, they will say
10:32 am
there is no -- there has never been anything like this. this is far bigger than bernie sanders. that was a -- by the way, many of his people, bleach it or not, are coming to our side because they agree with me on trade. they realize how we're being ripped apart on trade. and he should have never made a deal. he sold his soul to the devil when he made that deal. he ruined his legacy, but many of the bernie people are coming over to us because of trade, and our stance on trade is tougher and smarter and better than his but they understand that. wall street and the politicians are trying to stop us because they know we will fix the rigged system that has enriched them for so many years but very much at your expense, very, very much. i have spent a life in business
10:33 am
creating tens of thousands of jobs. i built a great, great company, but i've spent a whole life, i have employed tens of thousands of americans, but when i saw what was happening to our country, i just felt i had to act. i had to act. and i acted. i acted. so that's when i made my move and that's the way the move is. that's when we made our move. thank you very much. june 16th, famous day, right? do you remember coming down the escalators? oh, boy. but i don't mind being an outsider. i don't mind. this is our last chance, folks. i think the governor would agree with me so much. we have one chance. it's our last chance. it's on tuesday. it's the 8th. it's our last chance. now, some of you have voted.
10:34 am
how many of you have voted? actually i like it because our numbers are looking very good, but now i know we can get a lot more people. tuesday is going to be a very good day, but this is our last chance because -- and i'm talking as a country because it's never going to happen again, never going to happen again. and i was sort of saying it last time, but this time i say it and we have so many things to do, and we can do them. some of them easily. some of it is common sense. there's no common sense. the iran deal, $150 billion going back to iran. and then we're going to give them $400 million in cash, right? but the $400 million turned out to be $1.7 billion. terry is looking at me saying that's not possible.
10:35 am
$1.7 billion? $1.7 billion, we could use that. we could do a hell of a job in iowa with $1.7 billion. terry, that's in green, that's cash. that would go up to the ceiling. $1.7 billion. and obama lied, he said it wasn't for hostages, but they wouldn't let the hostages go until the money came in. so many lies. lied on obamacare. you can have your doctor. you can have your plan. 28 different times, you can have your doctor, you can have your plan. many democrats who didn't want to approve it, approved it based on that lie because it just made it unfortunately. it just made it. going out and voting is your last chance. it's your last chance to make our country truly, truly great again. my contract with the american voter begins with a plan to end government corruption and to take back our country from the special interests.
10:36 am
i want the entire corrupt washington establish mement, ot than our great congressman over here, he's not corrupt. where is our congressman? i'm not talking about you congressman, and i'm not talking about everybody, but, boy, there are a lot of them. to hear the words we are all about to say, when we win on november 8th, we are going to drain the swamp. that was an expression i tell people. i thought it was so hokey. i thought that was so hokey. i said no way i'm ever saying that. and then i went before a big group like this, and by the way this room is packed, and there are thousands of people outside that can't get in, which is crazy. but i gave that expression at a speech and i go like very

timidly, drain the swamp. the place like really liked it. then i said it with more energy the next time, and they really liked it. and then a third time they really, really -- and now people are going crazy. they're screaming at me when i'm speaking, drain the swamp. between that and build the wall, these are two expressions, and we will build a wall. so you never know about things, right? i tell the story, frank sinatra, frank sinatra didn't like "my way," the song "may way." great song. he didn't like it. he sang it. the audience loved it. sang it again. the audience really love it. it went out and became the number one song. all of a sudden he loved it. became his favorite song just about. at the core of my contract is my plan to bring jobs back to our country and to iowa. we're going to bring our jobs back. our economy's growth is anemic.
10:38 am
the worst since the great depression. you don't hear that. my jobs plan begins with a proposal to lower taxes on american business from 35% to 1 15%, and that's a massive tax cut for the family farms and the folks in iowa that work so hard and end up with very little left after taxes. and we're going to further protect our family farmers. i'm going to protect them like they have never been protected before. i mean, honestly, or i would have one big enemy in terry. that i can tell you. and we're going to protect corn-based ethanol. hillary clinton's plan will shut down family farms all over the nation. just like closed up the mines.
10:39 am
let me tell you, the miners are going back to work. the steel workers are going back to work. they will have clean coal. but the miners are going back to this. she will do this by radical epa regulations and raising taxes. hillary also wants to substantially increase the death tax on family farms. you know, you have a farm, it would be nice to leave it to your children, right? it's tough, tough. we're going to get rid of that. on top of that her anti-energy agenda will radically drive up the cost of energy, another attack on ingagriculture. big, big attack on agriculture. we will reverse the obama/clinton epa intrusion and eliminate job killing regulations that hurt the people of iowa and really hurt the farms.
10:40 am
you know, the up with thing, and i was telling the governor, your governor the last time, we're giving massive -- we're the highest taxed nation in the world, and we're giving massive tax cuts but we're also cutting very substantially the regulations and we want clean air, we want clean water, and we want safety, but beyond that, but i was just saying we are -- you know, you look at all the different things. the thing they most want, people, are the cut in regulations. even more important to them, more important are the cuts in regulations because they have killed our businesses. they're killing our businesses, especially our small businesses, and i would have been surprised and i was surprised, more important than the tax cuts is exactly that. we will also rebuild our inner cities. very unfair what's happening to our african-american communities, very unfair what's happening to our latino communities. we will become a rich nation once again, but to be a rich

10:43 am
wouldn't you say we have enough problems? so we'll take care of it. a trump administration will also secure and defend the borders of the united states. and, yes, we will build a great wa wall. we're going to keep the drugs out. we're going to keep the poison out of our country that's destroying our youth and plenty of other people. as secretary of state, hillary clinton allowed thousands and thousands of the most dangerous and violent criminal aliens to go free because their home countries would not under any circumstances take them back. can you imagine that? they catch murderers, drug dealers, the worst people, the worst people. they bring them back and their country says we're not taking them. they go through the secretary of state. she said bring them back, and the crime that's been committed by these people is unbelievable.

10:45 am
incredible family, beautiful family, devastated. the illegal immigrant who killed sara arrived at the border, entered federal custody, and then was released into the community despite the pleas of people that knew him, please don't do this, don't do this. right under the policies of the white house he was released again and again, but then he killed sara in a savage, savage way. sara graduated from college with a 4.0 grade index, number one in her class, the day before she was killed. there's so many instances like this. so many instances like this. and people knew trouble, but the administration said we don't get involved. a trump administration will end this nightmare of violence that's going on all over our country.

we will stop illegal immigration, deport all criminal aliens, and dismantle every last criminal gang and cartel threatening our citizens. and we're going to build that wall. it's going to be a great wall and let me just tell you, mexico is going to pay for the wall. they don't know it yet. they don't know it yet. they're starting to have a very good idea, but that's okay. mexico, they're great. i met with the president of mexico three months ago, great. but it's got to be a two-lane highway. you know, we lose so much. we lose our plants, we lose our jobs, we lose our wealth, and we get drugs and unemployment. it's got to be a two-way and it will be because the trade deficit with china and so many of these countries, but the trade deficit is mekxico is massive. far greater than what we're talking about for the wall. so a lot of politicians said you can't get mexico to pay for the
